For Your First Big Steps...
Curriculum
At Tiny Toes, we believe that children’s joy and happiness are integral to their learning journey. We prioritise fun and play-based activities that are tailored to each child’s abilities and interests, all within the framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
The EYFS curriculum provides a strong foundation for children’s learning and development. It’s designed to holistically support children’s growth, including their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. At Tiny Toes, we recognise that every child is unique, with their own learning styles, interests, and abilities. Therefore, our curriculum is flexible and adaptable to meet each child’s individual needs.

Play-based learning is at the heart of our approach. We believe that play is fundamental to children’s curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Through play, children can explore and discover the world around them, whilst also developing communication and social skills through interactions with others and sharing ideas.
We use various teaching methods, including observation, interaction, and assessment, to support children’s learning and development. We also work closely with parents and carers, fostering a partnership to ensure that children receive full and consistent support at home and nursery.
At Tiny Toes, we strive to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive and be well-prepared for primary school and beyond!
myHappymind: Supporting Children's Wellbeing Through the 7 C’s
At Tiny Toes, we are dedicated to nurturing not just academic development, but also the emotional and social well-being of every child. That’s why we have introduced the myHappymind programme into our curriculum.
Based on positive psychology and neuroscience, myHappymind empowers children to understand their emotions, build resilience, and develop a strong sense of self. Central to this programme are the 7 C’s of Wellbeing—a framework that guides children in becoming confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
The 7 C's of Wellbeing
Children learn to recognise and value their own skills and abilities. Through daily activities and positive reinforcement, we help each child understand what they’re good at and how to keep improving. This builds a sense of pride and motivation to try new things.
We encourage children to believe in themselves and their ability to face challenges. By creating a safe, supportive environment, we give children the space to take risks, solve problems, and learn from mistakes, developing true self-confidence.
Positive relationships are at the heart of mental wellbeing. Children are supported in building strong, healthy connections with peers and adults through cooperative play, group activities, and social stories. This fosters a sense of belonging and trust.
Developing a strong sense of right and wrong helps children grow into thoughtful and ethical individuals. We use stories, discussions, and role play to explore kindness, honesty, responsibility, and other key values that shape good character.
Children are encouraged to understand the joy and value of helping others. Whether it's sharing toys, helping a friend, or participating in group projects, they learn that they can make a positive impact on the world around them.
Life comes with ups and downs, even for young children. We teach simple, age-appropriate strategies for managing emotions, like calming breaths, naming feelings, or taking a quiet moment, to help children handle frustration, sadness, and other difficult emotions.
Children learn that they are in charge of their actions and choices. Through guided decision-making and consistent routines, we help them develop a sense of autonomy and responsibility for their behaviour, laying the foundation for self-discipline and independence.
myHappymind in Practice at Tiny Toes
Our team delivers the myHappymind modules in fun, engaging ways using stories, songs, and hands-on activities that fit naturally into our daily routine. Modules such as Meet Your Brain, Celebrate, and Relate help children understand complex ideas like emotional regulation, gratitude, and empathy in ways that are simple and meaningful.
At Tiny Toes, we believe in giving every child the tools they need to grow into emotionally healthy, socially capable, and resilient individuals. Through myHappymind and the 7 C’s, we’re laying the foundations for lifelong wellbeing and success.
